Access (Pro) controls who sees content on Table, Repeater, and Dynamic Page widgets on the live site. It is separate from CMS collection permissions (who can create or edit items in the dashboard).
Access changes visibility for visitors. It does not encrypt CMS data or replace dashboard permissions.
Requirements
- Pro plan — configure Access in the editor on Pro; rules apply on the published site only when the site has Pro.
- A Wix CMS collection connected in Content on the widget (same as normal CMS displays). Connect a collection before the Access controls appear.
- Pricing plan audience — the Pricing Plans app installed on the site when you restrict by plan.
Access is not available on Form, Slideshow, Media Gallery, or Calendar in this release.
Configure Access
Where: Widget Settings → Access (accordion after Content on Table, Repeater, and Dynamic Page)
- Read the live-site note at the top (Access affects visitors, not CMS dashboard roles). Use Learn more for this page.
- Set Protect:
- Off — everyone sees content (default).
- Entire widget — one rule for the whole widget.
- Individual items — only rows/items that match item rules below are protected; others stay visible.
- Under Who can view, choose:
- Signed-in site members, or
- Pricing plan holders — select one or more public plans (loaded from the site).
- When Individual items is selected, add item rules (same idea as Fixed filters in Search & filters): an item is protected when all rules match.
When inaccessible {#when-inaccessible}
Use this section for visitors who do not match the audience rules.
| Setting | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Display | Show message (default) or Hide content (no message UI). |
| Message | Custom copy in a multi-line field. Leave empty for the default: “You do not have access to this content.” |
| Message text | Font and color pickers (same controls as table UI text design). |
| Show button | Optional call to action under the message. |
| Button action | Prompt member login (Wix sign-in dialog) or Go to link (page or URL). |
| Button label | Button text (default “Sign in”). |
| Button link | Shown when action is Go to link (default /login). |
| Button design | Button font, text color, and background color (same pattern as payment buttons). |
After a successful Prompt member login, the page reloads so access can unlock without a manual refresh.
Editor preview
In the editor, blocked content may show an Access preview banner so you can style the message. Enforcement matches the live site only on published pages with Pro.
Access vs collection permissions
| Widget Access | Collection permissions | |
|---|---|---|
| Where | Widget Access panel | CMS Collections → Permissions |
| Controls | Who sees displayed CMS data on the site | Who can read/write items in the CMS |
| Pro | Yes — enforced on the live site | Included with CMS |
Use collection permissions for editorial and data security. Use Access for member-only or paid content on public pages.
